As a coach,
I want an automated way to create and manage fixtures for matches or tournaments,
So that I can organize and schedule games efficiently without manual effort, ensuring all participants have a fair and balanced schedule.


User Flow & Detailed Steps

  1. Accessing the Fixture Generator:

    • Scenario: The coach logs into the app and navigates to the "Fixture Generator" section.
    • Steps:
      1. The coach clicks on the "Fixture Generator" tab.
      2. The app displays options to create a new fixture or view and manage existing ones.
    • Outcome: The coach can choose to generate a new fixture or manage existing game schedules.
  2. Creating a New Fixture:

    • Scenario: The coach wants to create a fixture for an upcoming tournament or series of matches.
    • Steps:
      1. The coach clicks on "Create New Fixture."
      2. The coach enters details, such as:
        • Tournament or match series name
        • Number of participating teams/players
        • Match format (e.g., round-robin, knockout, league)
        • Preferred schedule (start and end dates, days of the week, time slots)
      3. The coach can specify additional settings, like:
        • Venue or court allocation
        • Match duration and buffer times between games
        • Rules for home and away games, if applicable
      4. The coach clicks "Generate Fixture."
    • Outcome: The fixture is automatically generated, showing the full match schedule with dates, times, and opponents.
  3. Viewing and Managing Fixtures:

    • Scenario: The coach wants to review or update the generated fixture.
    • Steps:
      1. The coach selects the fixture from the list.
      2. The app displays a detailed schedule, including:
        • Match dates, times, and opponents
        • Venue or court details
      3. The coach can make adjustments, such as:
        • Rescheduling a match
        • Changing the venue
        • Swapping match order
      4. The coach saves the changes, and notifications are sent to all participants about the updates.
    • Outcome: The fixture is updated, and everyone involved is informed of the changes.
  4. Fixture Notifications:

    • Scenario: The coach wants to notify teams or players about upcoming matches.
    • Steps:
      1. The coach selects a match or series of matches from the fixture.
      2. The coach clicks "Send Notification," and the app sends reminders to participants with details about:
        • Match date, time, and venue
        • Opponents and any additional match rules
      3. Participants receive notifications via email, SMS, or in-app alerts.
    • Outcome: Players and teams are well-informed about their match schedules, reducing the chances of confusion or missed games.
  5. Generating Reports for Fixtures:

    • Scenario: The coach wants a report of the fixture for sharing or record-keeping.
    • Steps:
      1. The coach clicks on "Generate Fixture Report."
      2. The coach selects the format (e.g., PDF, CSV) and the details to include, such as:
        • Complete match schedule
        • Venue assignments
        • Team/player details
      3. The report is generated and available for download or sharing.
    • Outcome: The coach has a clear and organized record of the fixture, useful for communication and future reference.
  6. Handling Match Cancellations or Rescheduling:
